TCKs at PFO!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!
Do not let your laptop computer go through the x-ray thingy at security in the airport. It will fry it. Dead. Ka--put.
Which means all of these fabulous pictures that I am taking of Western New York state will have to wait until I get home. Durn. But even sadder is the fact that Vincent's online course starts this week...which is why we packed it. Fortunately we have access to the computer lab here at Houghton College. But it is just not the same. Maybe if we weren't in such a hurry to catch our flight we would have read the SIGNS! Alas.
AT is gorgeous here! Beautiful. And cool. Ahhh. I left over 100 degree weather and arrived to nice and comfortable low 70s. No air conditioning needed. Can you imagine that? Well I never could before.
You are probably wondering what TCKs at PFO means.
Third Culture Kids at Pre-Field Orientation.
We are here training for two full weeks in Houghton New York.
We are learning:
How to minister to and parent (in our case) Third Culture Kids. Children whose parents are from one culture..the children grow up in maybe several different cultures and learning to adapt in all of these situations.
How to handle: preparing to move to another country, preparing to minister to children from different countries and loving on all involved in the process with a love that only our Savior can provide!
Heidi and Valerie are being encouraged and instructed by people who have been in their exact shoes. The same for us.
We are excited about what the next two weeks has in store for us and can't wait to see what happens next!
